In the interests of ensuring the highest safety standards, Hitachi Power Tools Australia Pty Limited is requesting that owners of all C12FSA compound mitre saws contact Hitachi Power Tools Australia Customer Service to make arrangements to have modifications installed to the saw's blade guard.

Description of problem

When the saw head is in its fully upright position, the self adjusting guard of the product does not completely enclose the lower portion of the blade unprotected by the fixed guard .

Products affected

All C12FSA compound mitre saws sold in Australia between December 1997 and February 2007.

Modification required

Hitachi Power Tools Australia will install a modification to the blade guard to ensure that the exposed portion of the blade is fully covered when the saw head is in its upright position.

The modification will be installed free of charge.
